EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
A student’s relationship with learning dictates how they will grow throughout the rest of their life. As a teacher, it is important to help students become active learners, to get them engaged and interested. I have always been very student focused. I try to individualize my teaching style based on the needs of my students and I try to get students involved in their learning.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Anthropology before received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I graduated from both programs with Distinction
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have six years of experience teaching languages/social science. I have worked in mainstream schools, as well in alternative settings. I have significant experience working with students with special needs and learning disabilities. I have also worked privately for the School Board as a homebound tutor.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I ran a “Green School” initiative in which I led a program to make the school more environmentally friendly. I am an artist and led a zentangle group. I worked at the YMCA and helped develop youth programming for the Teen Zone.
