EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
The best way I can describe my teaching philosophy would be an idea brought to me through one of the intuitions I have had the pleasure of working with: any learner, anywhere, any time. Everyone has the ability to acquire new knowledge.
My desire is that when my students leave my classroom, they have a tenacity to continue to inquire and learn. I desire that they understand the importance of education and that everyone is gifted in their own way.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University in 2001. I returned to school and obtained my Master’s Degree in Human Relations and Psychology from Northern Arizona University in 2010. Finally, I am currently pursuing my Doctoral Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University and expect to be finished in 2016.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 13 years of teaching experience that ranges from primary to secondary and into the post-secondary realm. I have worked as a teacher and instructional coach assisting new teachers and a mentor teacher.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy traveling, especially internationally and have had the pleasure of visiting such exotic places as Belize, Fiji, Kenya, Egypt, Mexico, Canada, France, England, Australia and Thailand. I love to read, play with my son and hike.
