EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the key to learning is engagement, but this is not something to be forced onto students. I believe that a conscientious teacher-student rapport fosters engagement; teachers listening and responding to student needs and students, in turn, actively participating in the mechanisms of their own learning.
I believe strongly in creating a comprehensive learning atmosphere that ties learning to experience and engages all types of learning (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.).
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo in 2010. During my time there, I was engaged in a teaching-centered French program which included work in elementary and high schools teaching French language. I also specialized in Drama and continue to work as a theater researcher / writer.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have experience as an intern teacher, teaching assistant, curriculum coordinator and instructor; culminating to over 5 years of experience.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am a lover of comic books and superheroes and I have started building a collection of both new and old issues. I love theater and I am still involved in theater research and writing, as well as producing, directing, and acting. I enjoy playing the guitar and the piano.
