I believe that all students have the capability to succeed. This may require different approaches and varying amounts of collaboration with schools, families, and communities, but it can be done. When we stop severing schools away from the rest of a child’s life, it will become relevant and perhaps even enjoyable for many students.

After receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Math & Social Studies Education from Miami University, I decided to stay there to obtain a Master’s of Educational Leadership in Curriculum & Teacher Leadership. From college through the present, I do research, write articles, and attend conferences regarding best teaching practices and school reform.

I have been tutoring and teaching for the past 5 years.

I spend a lot of time reading about education and politics (yes, this is what I do for fun!). I also watch documentaries and shows about historical and scientific events.
