About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My focus is always on how to make my teaching techniques more interesting and more engaging for my students. I want students to see that English/Literature can be enjoyable and that they can develop a love and understanding of the language.
I help students gain the tools they need to be more successful in English. I want my students to know that no matter what obstacles happen to be in your path, you can still become a strong, intelligent, and driven person.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education in English from the University of South Carolina. I also have a Master’s Degree in Education. I am currently working towards a Master’s of English from Southern New Hampshire University.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for eleven years. I started out teaching 9th grade for seven years in a freshman academy. I then worked with 10th and 12th graders. I am currently teaching college level courses at a local college.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have helped sponsor various academic clubs within the school setting. Outside of school, I am involved in my boys’ schools and my church. I find that I have a full life that involves my love of literature and English and my love for my children. I spend most of my free time with my boys and reading.
