Education is best when it is an engaging experience for the student. The teacher is a guide and support but it is the student who leads the learning. It is always best when new learning can be placed in the context of student’s previous knowledge.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from University of Wisconsin and then went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Education and Reading Instruction at Aurora University. I have more than nine years of experience as a teacher. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I have experience teaching a variety of students including accelerated, students with IEP’s and English language Learners.

I have approximately 10 years of experience teaching in the classroom. This includes teaching for Language Arts, Social Studies and Bilingual Language Arts.

At my school I currently run a soccer club twice a week. I enjoy working out, running, and playing soccer. I also am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction.
