I believe all children have the ability to reach their full potential. Many children fall behind in school because they are not receiving the individualized attention they may need. As a high school educator, I feel it’s important for students to receive help outside the classroom so they can excel in English and Math. Confidence in being able to satisfactorily complete homework assignments and perform well on tests makes all the difference in a child’s life.
I attended State University of New York at Albany and graduated with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree there. My undergraduate major was English and my Master’s degree is in Education with a concentration in English as a Second Language.
I taught ESL for 3 years and spent most of my career as a job placement counselor and a medical school Institutional Review Board administrator for 15 years. I have been tutoring SAT/ACT and TASC Prep, reading, writing, ESL, pre-algebra and algebra for many years. My nonjudgmental, interactive approach has helped many students achieve high SAT/ACT scores and improve their grades at school.
I enjoy gardening, watching suspense movies, cooking (especially baking), and traveling throughout the Northeastern United States. I love animals and have 2 Siamese cats. This past year I worked part-time Saturdays as a Pet Nutritional Consultant to promote Purina ProPlan for dogs and cats.
