As a tutor, I hope to motivate my students to do their best and extend their perspective on the value education brings to their lives. People learn in many different ways. Therefore, they need to receive instruction n different ways. When working with a student, I will use different techniques to ensure they are fully comprehending the material and learning in the best way suited for them.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 3.5 years. I then received my Texas teaching certification for Early Childhood-6 Generalist and English as a Second Language. Since then I have received several hours of professional development as a teacher.
I have taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grades in the classroom. My passion is teaching students and helping them to become successful learners. I have tutored several different grades and abilities before (through private tutoring and tutoring through a school district), specifically focusing on 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Math, Writing and Reading. I have worked with students who are below grade-level to help them get caught up and succeed, and with students who just need to stay up and get ahead for the next school year.
I love helping at-risk students and have been involved in various volunteer organizations to help ensure their educational achievement and social well-being. I also enjoy quilting, sewing and spending time with family.
