About Me

In any learning environment, I believe the student, not the teacher, is king. It is the teacher’s responsibility to adapt to the student’s ability level and unique learning style, breaking down complicated material to clear and cogent chunks. In particular, I think three important principles for teaching math are to illustrate abstract concepts with good examples, balance rigorous definitions with easier-to-grasp intuitions, and involve the student(s) in the process as much as possible.

I am a junior Mathematics major at CU Boulder with a 4.0 GPA in math coursework. I graduated from H-B Woodlawn high school in three years and studied abroad at the Universidad de Granada. I was admitted to the Park City Mathematic Institute summer undergraduate program.

During the summer of 2012 I worked at the Tutoring Center (Herndon, VA). I tutored mostly math and science to K-12 students. In Spring 2014, I graded homework and quizzes for the Discrete Math classes of Janos Englander and Alexander Gorokhovsky at CU Boulder.

Since 6th grade I have been an avid cyclist, competing in multiple national championships. Balancing cycling and school has been a helpful exercise in time management.
