EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Lessons need to have real-world applications so that students can identify how their “homework” has real-world value. I prepare learning opportunities that provide support for and reflect the diversity of my students’ prior experiences, knowledge and skills, as well as personal learning styles. Homework assignments should be relevant to everyday life and develop problem-solving capabilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My Bachelor of Education was completed at Nipissing University where I took additional courses in International Teaching and the Education of Native Canadians. In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor of Humanities from the College of Humanities at Carleton University.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
For three years I lived in South Korea where I taught ESL elementary, secondary, and adult classes. I also created after-school programming and taught cross-curricular English immersion camps.
