EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Working one on one with students through personalized attention adds value to the process of developing writing skills, reading comprehension and oral presentation skills. The most rewarding tutoring experience is being able to encourage student self-confidence, personal academic goals and to strive students to reach their full potential through the tutoring coaching process.I value student success and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Guelph, Ontario with a double major in both English and History. I then went on to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the University of Windsor and subsequently completed an additional qualification for Special Education as well.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have experience teaching early reading strategies to early learners as well as ESL student and experience teaching English as a second language to both young and adult learners.
I also have experience as a tutor and assisting instructor.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I was nominated for the Oktoberfest Woman of the Year for my volunteer work in the community. I enjoy working with family literacy groups in the community to help bring literacy skills home for both parents and children.
I am also involved in roller skating activities. I used to be a roller skating coach and enjoyed motivating students to reach their goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and creative writing.
