About Me

I believe that every child can and does learn. Effective teaching is rooted in choosing the progressively sequential learning objectives in order to bring the opportunity of gained knowledge to the intersection of past experiences.

Excellent teachers employ multiple-pathways instruction because every child has a different learning style. If a teacher determines the learning style of a particular student, then the learning process becomes exciting and extremely effective.

I struggled as a math student when I was young. I hated math until one teacher took an interest in me and proved to me that I could do math. With just a little encouragement and help, I began to climb the ladder of my success. I eventually graduated from Millikin University with a degree in Mathematics. After teaching for several years, I attended Walden University for my Masters degree in Educational Technology.

I realize the impact that one teacher can have on one student. Life can be changed and a new direction can be set. I would have never made it to where I am without that teacher that took an interest in my success. Therefore I devote my time to taking an interest in the success of students in need in hopes that they will enjoy a similar pride of accomplishment.

I have taught Middle School mathematics and Algebra in the St, Louis area for 25 years. During this time I have taught sixth grade mathematics through Algebra. This past year, I won the Middle School Teacher of the Year Award. I enjoy helping individual students rise to their greatest potential.

My wife and nine year old son live with me in St. Louis. We spend a great deal of time traveling in the summer months. I race sailboats all around the country and teach kids to sail. Most of all, I enjoy being a daddy and a husband.
