EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all children are capable of learning. Every child has a unique way of learning, and it is the educator’s responsibility to discover the child’s best method of learning the material under study. I also believe that a child must have a drive for learning, and again, it is the educator’s responsibility to help instill this drive for learning and foster it over the course of the academic year.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University. I also have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix. I continuously take additional education courses in order to maintain my teaching certificate. I am also a certified elementary teacher in the state of Michigan.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I was a Kindergarten teacher in an inclusive classroom for three years. I worked as a substitute teacher for all grade levels for a total of 10 years. Most recently, I have taught classes at the college level. I teach Early Childhood Education courses to those who are going into the teaching field.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I teach a writing class for home school students of all ages. I also conduct a story time event at the local library. This is also for children of all ages.
