As an ideal teacher, I understand the classroom is a place to transmit my positive energy to my students through learning and growth in the subject matter. Because I am more that a channel of information, it is up to me to utilize diverse approaches to appeal to the different learning styles of all students by asking the proper questions that will allow them to probe their minds and challenge their thinking.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University. I then went on to receive Master’s Degrees in Secondary Education and School Counselling. I am a certified teacher in the state of Michigan.
I have been teaching at the high school level for almost 14 years, 2001 to 2014. I also have experience teaching at the university level.
The extra curricular activities I have been involved in while working are: senior and junior class advisor, yearbook advisor, curriculum writer for the ELA department, and ACT English team leader. Outside of work I belong to a community service sorority and also participate various community service projects with my children and their schools.
