Our Tutors: Jeffery M.
My name is Jeffery M. and I am a High School Math and Chemistry Tutor from Greenville, North Carolina.
SchoolTutoring Academy’s tutoring programs for Ajax students start with a free academic assessment with an Academic Director. Our flagship tutoring programs are available for $179.99/month which include regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.
Students in Ajax are taught following the curriculum designed by Ontario Education. The curriculum is a framework for teaching and learning in all subject areas across the grade span. It describes the learning objectives and measurable goals that students need to achieve in order to become proficient in the subject. In English, the goals of developing critical reading, writing and communication skills is built through reading across genres, writing for different purposes, and analyzing the different elements of text.
The Ontario Curriculum provides a framework for the instructional process used in the schools in Ajax. This curriculum is designed to cover the core academic subjects and electives. There are curricular frameworks developed for and used in programs that have a specific approach or method, such as International Baccalaureate or Outdoor Education, which specify program objectives and serves as a roadmap to the expected outcomes. The curriculum frameworks for each subject or program serve to guide the goals of teaching, the outcomes of learning, and provide a fair basis for creating assessments.
The curriculum for Language gives an overview of the types of literacy, communication, and thinking skills students will develop from elementary to high school. The early grades provide students with time to read for pleasure and also focus on basic phonemic and grammatical topics. These build the skills students need for literary analysis and to evaluate non-fiction and informational texts. Students write literary responses and structured papers which are expected to show awareness of language conventions, the ability to develop a topic, and an awareness of purpose and audience.
Math, Science, and Technology are areas in which there are a number more course offerings than in the past. Technology has increased the possibilities for instruction and classes taught, and students are able to take a full complement of courses to develop technological ability that would prepare them for a successful career.
