Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Barstow District Curriculum

The content of the Math curriculum clearly lays out the skills which students will gain in geometry and measurement, algebra, and data management using statistics and probability.  In Language Arts, students are taught to write for a range of purposes, to develop a process for writing, and to listen and speak while thinking critically. This brings about advanced thinking skills like problem-solving, and reasoning skills by providing a framework that carries knowledge throughout the intellectual development of the students.

For students who enter a small learning community, the curriculum covers the same core academics and also explain how other subject matter will be brought into instruction.
