EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My educational philosophy is to have an approach built upon academic standards where a curriculum is developed and keeping the commitment to a creative, innovative and child-centered education. I would involve the whole child to where children engage and integrate every aspect instead of just involving their whole entire intellect.
Furthermore, I would support the natural development of children by understanding the developmental needs of children. I would adapt to each child’s unique learning style. It is important to create a caring and supportive relationship with the children.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I started at a local community college here in the area and ended up majoring in Psychology. I obtained 2 Certificates in Early Childhood Education and 2 Associates Degrees. I made a conscious decision to transfer to another private college and obtain my Bachelors Degree. I obtained my Certificates and Associate Degrees in May of 2006 and my Bachelors Degree in June of 2008. I am presently working towards my Masters Degree in Educational Psychology.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I started out as a Volunteer Tutor with a non-profit organization in 2005. I have worked for 5 different tutoring companies and have 8 years of tutoring experience. At this present time, I work for 3 online tutoring companies.
My teaching experience involves making lesson plans, daily tutor logs, parent contact logs, Supplemental educational services monthly attendance records, and creating worksheets for students to practice their academic material on.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
As for extracurricular activities, I am very actively involved in my community. I volunteer to teach children to learn how to read at the library. I help with clean up around the neighborhoods and attend community events in my local community. I am a volunteer for Relay for Life and other non-profit organizations.
