EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Approach each student as an individual and meet them where they are – identify student goals and be open to trying different strategies to identify how the student learns best and thus will learn how to support themselves in the long run.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My education is shaped by theatre, creativing writing, Anthropology and sociology, an internship whereby I learned to work with students of any skill-set (learning disabled or students who simply require some extra support) and a lab-time spent scoring questionnaires re: Adolescent self-injury lab.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Over the last 4 years I have worked in several Montreal private schools (Gr. 1 – 12) as a private Process tutor and content tutor, I have also worked at St. Georges Highschool (2 yrs) and L.C.C. (1 year) as an academic coach and Process tutor providing academic support for students with learning disabilities (ADHD/Dyslexia/CAP/NVLD/VSLD/Executive function/etc.) I have also worked privately with college and university level students as a Process Tutor/Academic coach.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I find yoga, any outdoor activity, writing, reading and music to be central to my wellbeing. I have a diverse athletic background and enjoy team sports and solo sports. I also enjoy drawing and traveling to meet new people and learn about other cultures.
