EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Students learn in a variety of ways. The role of the teacher is to identify how a student will best understand difficult concepts and then tailor lessons to meet those needs. I am patient and encourage students to ask questions. Solving problems with students is essential to the learning process.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Most recently I completed the pre-medicine science requirements at McGill University and I am currently being interviewed for medical school. I completed both my Master’s and Bachelor’s in music performance at McGill University as well. Prior to that I was a student in the CUNY Honors College.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I currently teach orchestra and music theory with Winnipeg El Sistema, an after school children’s orchestra. Students are elementary school age and classes vary in size from 15 – 50 students. Prior to this I have taught various subjects privately and in groups to kids, teenagers and adults. I have also begun tutoring high school science students as well.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love to canoe and camp. I am an avid reader and especially well read in history, classics, and natural sciences. I play and compose a variety of music and am always looking for new and exciting sounds.
