Education should be stimulating and rewarding. In order to cultivate this perspective, students should be incentivized to learn and rewarded for their achievements – no matter how small. Positive feedback is key in this regard. Self-directed learning is an invaluable skill to instill in students.

I have had the good fortune to have received a superior primary education at excellent public and private schools, which emphasized not only scholastic achievement, but also, social responsibility and life skills. I studied Anthropology and International Affairs as a bachelor candidate. I then went on to law school and to earn a Masters of Arts in International Law.

My first job in was teaching horseback riding to all ages. I taught English as a second language to rural Thai students in a village in northeastern Thailand. In addition, I volunteered at an elementary and at a middle school in Florida. I also worked for a summer grading high school level state standardized assessments.

While in college, I was a member of many school organizations including student government groups and Amnesty International. In law school, I volunteered at the War Crimes Center and contributed to the Human Rights Brief. Currently, I grow vegetables for my family and restore antique furniture.
