About Me
SUBJECTS
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that students need to be engaged in order to learn. If a student can be invested in a subject, it becomes more interesting to them and they will feel a desire to learn. With the use of technology and the integration of current events interlaced through a lesson plan, students feel as if the lesson is geared towards them. All students have the ability to learn. It is true that all students learn differently, however all students can learn and they must have encouragement and integration in order to foster their learning.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor’s degree in History and Spanish from Bowling Green State University in 2008, and my Master’s degree in Spanish from The University of Toledo in 2010. While working on my bachelors degrees, I was a Peer Facilitator in History, helping college freshmen study and learn in a history course.
While working on my Master’s degree, I tutored a middle school student for a period of time in arithmetic and English. After attaining my degrees, I taught high school Spanish for three years, and at the same time was teaching elementary French and Latin to middle school students. I have done several education credits worth of using technology in the classroom and have attended several seminars on classroom management and behavior.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have experience both teaching and tutoring over the past 8 years.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy reading very much. I believe that through reading we are exposed to different worlds and can expand our thought processes. I enjoy teaching my daughter the ins and outs of life and teaching her how to learn.
