EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in a student perspective learning environment: If you can find what motivates your student, you can assist your student in achieving success. Learning is a two-way street that requires, demands, active, enthusiastic participation from both learner and instructor. I use every available sense, medium, and genre to find a permanent connection between student and material.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a strong interest in people and learning. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Psychology with emphasis on research, statistics, and cognitive neuroscience.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught pre-K through 12 and college traditional and non-traditional students, including students-at-risk and potential drop-outs. I have mentored undergraduates onto graduate, law and medical schools.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy exercising, walking, hiking, and running. I have run a couple marathons, half marathons, and many local short runs. I enjoy people in general and have worked/volunteered with the Aged, riding Academy for the Disabled, hospice patients, and as a Guardian Ad Litem for foster children.
