EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Interactive learning is essential! I heavily rely on Bloom’s Taxonomy to help students use the higher levels of thinking and problem solving. I find that audio, kinesthetic, and read/write types of learning styles are all very important when covering material.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have an Associate Degree from Southwestern Michigan College, along with a CRLA Master LV3 Tutoring Certificate. I’ve worked as a Professional Tutor and Substitute Teacher for 4 years. I have built an excellent reputation in the Learning Center and Developmental Studies departments.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
As a Tutor, I’ve lead many learning groups and worked with students over the course of years. As a substitute teacher, I’ve maintained classrooms and facilitated learning conditions many times. Our Shadow Tutor Program has allowed me to observe and participate in the teaching of many classes over the course of an entire semester.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I currently own a local computer business. Over the past 3 years, I’ve professionally maintained this IT business. I’ve gained much leadership and independent life experience.
