EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I create a hands-on, student-centered learning environment based on inquiry, problem solving and collaboration. I believe students excel when they have engaging educational experiences and utilize technology in every aspect of learning.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English studies at the University of Toronto in 2009. I completed a Bachelor of Education degree from Nipissing University in Primary/Junior education in 2011. I recently completed a Masters of Education / Early Childhood Education diploma from York University (requirements fulfilled, to be conferred June, 2015). I have also completed several other Additional Qualification courses, including intermediate and senior English and special education.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been working for the York Region District School board as an occasional teacher since March, 2014. I also accepted a Long Term Occasional teaching position in another elementary school locally. I have also volunteered and taught in various schools and types of classrooms since 2007.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy coaching various sports teams, such as basketball, volleyball, track and field and floor hockey. I enjoy networking with other teachers and jump at any opportunity to lead professional development seminars and workshops.
