About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe education is the single most important thing an individual can earn. Education must be tailored to the learner after careful consideration of the student’s personality, skills, aptitude, and learning style. There are fundamental abilities all individuals have the right to possess, and a strong education enables a person to exercise and expand the mind and individual worldview.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I had a strong primary and secondary education in the Midwest United States. With strong educators encouraging me to continue, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature while minoring in Creative Writing. With my love for education, I continued on to graduate school to earn my Master of Arts Degree in a specialized field of education, College Student Personnel, where I was able to concentrate in human education and development.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I currently instruct two classes at a private university for primarily first-year and transfer students. These classes are tailored to the students’ expectations and identified areas of development. I have previously instructed an introductory psychology course to undergraduate students, preparing them for a resident advisor role. I have also offered countless workshops in APA and MLA writing styles to undergraduate and graduate students.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love to travel, explore, see new things, and gain more experiences. I am an avid reader with a particular passion for the nonfiction personal essay. I enthusiastically support the arts and attend live theatre and concerts whenever I can. I spend the rest of my time advising student organizations at my university.
