EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students can learn and that learning can be fun. Therefore, as a teacher I strive to make subject areas interesting and accessible for all of my students and to ensure they are having fun while doing it.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON in Biology. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (distinction) which I received from Brandon University, Brandon, MB.
I also have a Master’s Degree (distinction) from the University of Liverpool, England, UK and a Ph.D. from the the University of Calgary, Calgary, AB.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught with the Durham and Peel District School Boards in Ontario for 4 years, and taught summer school for each of those summers. I now teach in British Columbia, where I have been teaching Mathematics and Science for one year.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
While teaching, I was the staff advisor for the World Issues and Diversity Club and the Environmental Club. I also enjoy music (vocal and keyboard), hiking, swimming and photography.
