District-Aligned Fourth Grade Tutoring Programs
SchoolTutoring Academy provides students with the opportunity to work with fully certified teachers who provide in-home tutoring aligned with school district learning objectives. Our Grade 4 Tutoring Program is ideal for students seeking clarification on concepts discussed during the school year or those who are simply looking to get ahead. Our tutors prepare specialized lesson plans based on the state or provincial curriculum.
We begin every customized tutoring program by conducting a ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT to identify your child’s strengths and areas of development. A certified tutor will then be chosen to work with your child individually on the three major topics of the Grade 4 Curriculum: English, Math and Science.

4th Grade English Tutoring Program
By the end of Grade 4, your child should be able to meet the following English requirements:
- Use speaking skills to communicate effectively with different audiences
- Read a variety of texts fluently and summarize passages
- Present their work effectively by using proofreading techniques to correct errors
A SchoolTutoring Academy tutor will work with your child on a variety of activities that will help them develop their reading, writing and oral communication skills. These activities may involve reading short stories, engaging in creative writing or discussing passages with their tutor.
4th Grade Math Tutoring Program
By the end of Grade 4, your child should be able to meet the following Math requirements:
- Order the whole numbers from 0 to 10 000
- Multiply two digit numbers by two digit numbers
- Divide three digit numbers by one digit numbers using long division
- Understand fractions, decimals and percentages
- Count money up to 100 dollars
- Tell time to the nearest second
- Relate years to decades and decades to centuries
- Collect and organize data into a variety of graphs
Our tutors can aid your child in learning to complete addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems quicker and with ease through the use of additional worksheets. Sessions with our tutors will also help your child develop their problem solving skills so that they have a better understanding of how to approach word problems. Along the way, our tutors can also help your child identify shortcuts and tricks to completing mental arithmetic so they don’t develop a dependency on their calculator.
4th Grade Science Tutoring Program
By the end of Grade 4, your child should be able to meet the following Science requirements:
- Investigate the impacts of human interaction with habitats and the environment
- Examine the practical uses of pulleys and gears in modern society
- State the properties of light and sound and understand that they travel in waves
- Identify the different types of rocks and minerals and classify them based on their physical properties
