In geometry two angles can be related to each other in several ways. Below are two of them
Complementary angles
A pair of angles is called complementary angles if their sum is 90°. One of the complementary angles is said to be the complement of the other. For example, an angle of 35° is complement of angle of 55°.
The two angles need not to be adjacent. Adjacent complementary angles form a right angle.
Supplementary angles
A pair of angles is called supplementary angles if their sum is 180°. One of the supplementary angle is said to be the supplementary of the other. For example, 123° is supplement of 57°.
Angles do not have to be adjacent to be supplementary.
