Radian and Degree are the most commonly used units to measure angels. Angle in degrees is denoted by symbol ° e.g. 50°. The radian is represented by ‘rad’ or by superscript c e.g. 45 rad or 45c.
To convert between radian and degree we make use of the fact that 360° is same as 2π radians (π is a greek symbol pi).
Converting radian to degree
To convert the angle in radians to degrees, multiply the angle by 180/π.
i.e. degrees = radians × 180/π
For example, convert 3π radian to degree.
3π × 180/π= 3 × 180 = 540°
Converting degree to radian
To convert the angle in degrees to radians, multiply by π/180.
i.e. radians = degrees × π/180
For example, convert 270° to radian.
270 × π/180 = 3π/2 radians
