A shape with rotational symmetry looks the same after a certain amount of rotation. An object may have more than one rotational symmetry. The point around which the shape is rotated is called the center of rotation, and the smallest angle needed to turn is called the angle of rotation. The image is rotated (around a central point) so that it appears 2 or more times. How many times it appears is called the order.
Rotational symmetry of order n, also called n-fold rotational symmetry, or discrete rotational symmetry of the nth order, with respect to a particular point or axis means that rotation by an angle of 360°/n does not change the object.
