Ultimately, my goal is to motivate as much as it is to educate. Having a student understand a concept is one thing, but to inspire a deeper desire for connections beyond the classroom is the true making of an effective, influential teacher. That is the kind of hard-working teacher I strive to be every day. Through an inclusive, challenging educational experience that caters to the needs of all types of learners, I intend to provide all the tools necessary for every student to achieve their potential.
I graduated, with Honours, from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. My major was in English Language in Literature and my minor was in Creative Writing. I then forwarded my undergraduate degree into a Bachelor of Education Degree, also completed at the University of Western Ontario.
I have experience working with students in the classroom and privately tutoring. Additionally, I also volunteered at a local learning center for several months, assisting students with learning disabilities with their homework assignments.
Along with my work at learning centers, I helped coach the junior/intermediate boys basketball team at local schools. When I published my first book last year, I traveled to various schools around Ontario to speak about my book, and literature in general, with students, helping them work toward their dreams.
