I’m committed to a philosophy of lifelong learning. There is so much to learn and I believe that kids and adults alike learn most when learning is fun! Often that means finding ways to apply academic concepts to our real lives, making them personally relevant.
I graduated from Kalamazoo College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Social Relations. My coursework included a lot of educational and developmental courses which have helped me as a teacher. I also minored in Japanese, and took numerous theater classes due to my passion for the arts.
I am currently the lead teacher at a non-profit preschool. I have been teaching in some capacity since I was still in high school. I taught in a number of after school programs with many different age groups and did tutoring in college.
In my spare time I enjoy volunteering, sewing, astronomy, and video games. I love the arts, visiting museums, and the theater. I also love to travel and have visited countries all over the world, including China and Australia. I hope to visit Europe someday.
