About Me

As an educator, I provide individualized instruction that is differentiated based on students’ current level of understanding and background knowledge, areas for improvement, questions, and interests. My instructional strategy follows the “I do”/”we do”/”you do” model of scaffolding.

This means that I help students master new skills by first modeling the skill myself, then asking the student to practice doing the skill along with with me, and finally having the student perform this skill on his or her own. I have seen that all students can learn, and that, as an educator, it is my job to find an instructional strategy that works with a given student.

In addition to ten years of experience in teaching and tutoring, I hold an undergraduate degree in Education, as well as a teaching license, and a law degree. I have taught everything from AP Calculus; to GED, LSAT, and MCAT prep; to college-level Spanish; to middle school math.

I have tutored and taught the following subjects in Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus. I have also tutored standardized test prep for the: ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT. Finally, I have taught and tutored the following subjects at the middle-school, high-school, college, law-school, and adult-education levels: Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Spanish, and U.S. and World History.

I am a law school graduate working in legal consulting for juvenile courts across the county. I have lived all over the U.S., including Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Minneapolis. I enjoy walking, adventures, and trying new recipes that I find on Pintrest.
