I believe that, no matter who the student or what he/she studies, the best way for them to learn is engaging them and giving them the confidence to not only do the work, but teach the teacher. If they can explain how to get to the answer, then they most definitely understand the concept!
I have a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Biomedical Engineering. I have taken a wide variety of courses in math, physiology, biomechanics, and biomaterials.
I have been a private tutor of math and science for over ten years. My most recent position has been a math, reading, and writing instructor. I work with students from elementary-age to college-level. I believe that identifying the student’s strengths and using that as leverage gives the student the confidence to move forward and tackle even the most challenging problems!
I enjoy reading non-fiction books in history, politics, religion, and economics. I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories. I have recently been familiarizing myself with the classical satirical short stories, and would one day love to write satire.
