EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My teaching strategy utilizes the Universal Design for Learning to address the variety of needs and learning styles of my students. I also incorporate technology in my classroom at all times including the use of a Smart Board, laptop and projector. This allows me to create meaningful experiences for my students, helps students to find their strengths in learning, and become independent learners.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology. I have also completed a Bachelor in Education and a Masters from the University of Calgary.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for over 12 years with a variety of grade levels and subjects. Throughout my teaching experiences, I have successfully worked with students with a wide range of needs including, students identified with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorders, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am the lead grade 7 teacher at my school and I am responsible for the organization of student jobs, leadership opportunities and field trips. I have also participated in training teachers how to use laptops in the classroom, in my district.
