My piano instructor was just like a teacher to me. He helped me further my understanding of the piano and made me a stronger player. In one lesson, we were working on a Bach piece. There was a specific trill note that I was having trouble playing. He could tell that I was struggling, so he sat down on the piano bench with me and demonstrated what the note should sound like. He then had me attempt the trill note. I was jumbled at first, but then I quickly caught on to how it was supposed to be played. I could now play the trill while playing the other part of the music in my other hand at the same time. Without his help, I would have been stuck on that part and unable to play it correctly. I thank him for helping me overcome the difficult part of the piano piece, but also for choosing a song that challenged me as a piano player.
