I was never the smartest kid in the class, never have been and never will be. Knowing this I knew I had to work harder than usual but I was up for the challenge. I never had dropped a high school class but when I started taking pre calculus I don’t think I ever wanted anything more than to drop out of that class. I realized it was going to be a tough class so I went around and asked friends and family on their opinion. With my family, I would be the only kid to reach pre calculus out of 15 cousins or so and with this information made me want to stay so that I can be a role model for my younger siblings and cousins. With my friends, or my second family, two of them would be taking the class with me and they told “Eric, this class is hard but that’s life for you there will be some obstacles but if we have to struggle we will promise to struggle with you.” From there I went to talk to the teacher of the class she insisted to stay and promised to help in anyway whether going a bit slower or signing me uo for after school tutors. I had also asked previous graduates about how the class was and if it was worth it they told me to stay and complete the course it’ll pay off in the long run. My final decision was to keep the class. There are so many possibilities for help in any situation whether it being a class science, english, math, or electives. You have friends, family, teachers and your guidance counselors. For tough classes you can always find tutors if you are struggling a bit. Youtube is a thing now, there is a ton of videos about anything and everything for my case it was math. A lot of videos of different professors, teachers, and credited people upload to help out numerous students with their work, homework, class work, and exams.
