The time that I struggled in a school subject was in seventh grade in algebra. I had a teacher that was fresh out of college, he was my home room teacher whom was very shy and young. At first he would teach the class with ease and without worry but slowly the students started to talk their problems during class and he would put everything aside to address those problems. Sure that sounds like a great teacher but this would later happen all the time in class thus we didn’t learn a thing except for the problems that people presented to him. Students throughout the next four months acted up in class and rebelled against him , a student even throw a stapler at him. On the fifth month he announced that we would no longer be our teacher and a replacement would come shortly after Christmas break. When the new home room teacher arrived it was chaotic. I remember when the algebra teacher teached while most of the girls would go to the bathroom and talk for the rest of the class period till the bell rang and it was time to go back. I didn’t learn much from that teach either , he would mostly teach us things that were already taught to us a year ago.

I didn’t overcome this struggle until I was in high school and I went to summer school for failing algebra by the same teacher that taught me in seventh grade( the second home room teacher) . I worked hard all summer long to pass all my online class of math. The main person that encouraged me throughout this trial was my principle. She told me that she wanted me to pass this so that she could see me grow as a person in high school. I told her I would do my best and from there on out I changed myself to become a sponge that only soaks up information. That summer I passed algebra courses. That was the only time I went to summer school and the last time I truly struggled with math in general.
