Currently, I am in my 3rd year in school, and things have been getting a little hectic. My first 2 years here at school have been kind of a breeze, I get through my classes and have a lot of free time to myself to focus on things other than school. This year though is different for me. I have 10 classes and it is not by choice, it is kind of a necessity. I am falling behind on my credit hours to graduate so I have to pace to attempt to graduate on time. Those 10 classes also give me the status of a full-time student that why I say it’s a necessity. Taking 10 classes have been taking a toll on my health. My sleeping hours are getting worst and my eating habits have been sloppy. I spend my waking hours just to get through class and doing homework and I am exhausted. I never knew that my life would get this overwhelming.
Luckily, I remembered what I have learned from my past teacher about organizing for school and life in general. After a disastrous 2 weeks of school and waking up every day in a panic, I have decided that I had enough and wanted to change my life habits. I’ve decided to get a planner for school. I began writing out my schedule and also the things I have to get done every day. By making and writing out my daily goals, managing my 10-class schedule has been a breeze. By planning things, I started to forget less and also going through life a little easier. At that point, I’ve realized I should’ve done these things earlier in my life and I actually applied some life skills I have learned from my past teachers. That to me is very gratifying.
I am now able to manage my time more wisely and I get things done more efficiently and also less stressed about school and my future. I guess school does teach you things outside classrooms after all!
