Improper fraction to mixed fraction

To convert an improper fraction to a mixed fraction, the following steps are followed:

  1. Divide numerator (N) by the denominator (D) which will result into a whole number quotient (Q) and a remainder ( R).
  2. Write down the whole number quotient (Q) and remainder (R) above the denominator (D).

The remainder becomes the numerator of fraction part and the denominator remains same as that of improper fraction.
