Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to do something that will make other people happy while helping them. Science has helped me discover my dream of nursing. I learned the most fascinating discoveries, theories, and experiments. Although science certainly can’t explain everything, there are numerous things we can learn from it.
There are three main things I learned from science. First, organizational skills such as recording, comparing, and contrasting scientific information. I learned how to recognize good and poor features as well as pick out causes and effects. When designing or creating an experiment, one has to effectively record their data and analyze it.
Secondly, I learned creative abilities of developing new approaches and different ways of thinking. I learned how to think ahead, identify problems, create a method, and put all the ideas together. By thinking creatively, new discoveries can be made in the medical field which can lead to saving lives.
Lastly, I learned communicative skills and abilities of transferring information correctly from one experiment to another. I discovered how to ask effective questions, contribute to ideas, exhibit patience, and interpret data. Without effective communication skills, the experiments will never have the opportunity to become something that may impact the world.
When I was taught about the intricate details of science, it helped me realize that I could merge the two things I love, helping others and science, into a career. Although science has helped me realize what I want to pursue in life, it has also taught me perseverance. Science courses can be very invigorating and it takes dedication as well as discipline to get through the course, especially if you want a high grade.
Through science, I believe that others can find a passion to do what they love as well as learn lifelong skills.
