My advice that I would offer to a student just beginning his/her high school career would be: pay attention to your teachers. People don’t understand that the teachers are the key to every student’s success. If you want to succeed in high school and college you need to be aware of your teacher because they are there for you to ask them questions and get insight on things. Students tend to judge their teachers based on looks and tone of voice. Have you every thought that they appear that way because people talk about them that way, and you believe that is the way they are. They are human beings just like you and me they need a break from teaching to, but then again they wouldn’t be a teacher if they didn’t love or like the job or their students. My advice for you is to give them a chance and let them show you who they are. Another thing is to actually pay attention to what they are teaching. Nowadays, students don’t like to pay attention to the class work because they are too busy on their phones or talking to their friends. There is a time and place for everything and the classroom unless you have the teachers permission is not one of those places. When you start high school you think you’re not going to fit in or know what to do. Actually, nobody does until you get there and make more friends and live life. You don’t have to force relationships or even act out. You need to be who you are and the friends that you have need to accept that as do you. Nobody goes to a new school not feeling anxious about something and the only way it goes away is if you conquer it. Your first year of high school should be the time to get to know the school, the staff, the teachers, and of course friends. But then again you have four years and you should make the best of them. And when you get to your senior year have fun but definitely don’t slack off because it will come back to haunt you. Have fun, do well and succeed in you high school career.
