If I could have dinner with one historical figure for one night, I would like to eat with Martin Luther King Jr.. One of the main reasons why I would love to is because of his inspirational work. As a student, I admire his work ethic and thirst for knowledge. Even though he was seen as lowly because of his skin color, he stilled decided to work hard and earn his doctorate degree, which at that time was even more of a challenge for colored individuals. Not only that, but as a human being, I am completely inspired by his work advocating civil rights. Even though he could have easily turned to violent protesting since the polic were so brutal to him and his friends, he held through and instead practiced civil disobedience. That is one thing that I admire so much about him and all the people who supported civil disobedience. It is absolutely amazing how large his work grew and how it became national. He went through so much turmoil for his movement but he never once backed down despite knowing his life was at risk. He fought for the people and he succeeded. I would love to have dinner with a man I have learned about since I was an elementary student. I would love to have dinner with a man that is so renowned for his civil rights movement. I would love to have dinner with a man who has changed the nation, making it a much better place to live in. He gave so much to this world: his passion, his knowledge, his perseverance, his bravery, his voice, his time and even his life. He gave it all to make this world a better place. His movement was just less than 13 years but it left such an impact on the work and in me. These are the reasons as to why I would like to have dinner with Martin Luther King Jr..
